Mumbai: Fahadh Faasil and Ssara Palekar-starrer Don’t Trouble The Trouble has quietly made its digital debut on Netflix. Directed by Shashank Yeleti, the fantasy film was released in cinemas on October 2 and arrived on the streaming platform on October 30, completing a 28-day theatrical-to-OTT window.
Netflix confirmed the film’s availability on Friday, making it accessible to viewers in five languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The platform announced its arrival with a caption referring to a clever trickster, a mischievous ghost and the trouble that follows.
Netflix Release Draws Mixed Reactions
The film’s arrival on OTT has prompted varied responses from viewers. While some social media users expressed disappointment with the theatrical experience, others welcomed the opportunity to watch it at home.
One viewer commented that the film was worth watching only for Fahadh Faasil, while another lamented that the actor, known for his earlier work, had taken up a project they found disappointing. Some viewers, however, appeared excited about its digital release.
What Is ‘Don’t Trouble The Trouble’ About?
Directed by Shashank Yeleti, the film is presented by SS Rajamouli and produced by SS Karthikeya, Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banners of Showing Business and Arka Media Works. The project also marks Fahadh Faasil’s debut as the primary lead in Telugu cinema.
Fahadh plays Suri, an orphan who earns his living as an ambulance driver. His life takes a difficult turn after he gets into trouble with a gangster and is forced to arrange ₹25 lakh. To raise the money, Suri comes up with a plan to kidnap a wealthy child and demand a ransom.
His plans take an unexpected turn when he encounters Divya, played by Ssara Palekar. She claims to have made her parents disappear, adding another layer of mystery to the story.
Star Praise Could Not Translate Into Box Office Success
Before its theatrical release, Don’t Trouble The Trouble received encouraging reactions from several prominent Tollywood actors, including Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Nani. Despite the industry praise, the film struggled to attract a large audience in cinemas.
According to trade figures reported by Sacnilk, the film collected ₹5.21 crore worldwide, including ₹4.54 crore in India. It opened to lukewarm responses from critics and audiences and failed to maintain momentum during its theatrical run.
The film is now available on Netflix in all five announced language versions.
