New Delhi: Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actress-influencer Akriti Agarwal have surprised fans with a major update about their relationship. After announcing their separation last month, the couple has now confirmed that they have reconciled and decided to start their relationship afresh.
Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal had got engaged in March this year and shared their engagement pictures on social media, which received a positive response from fans. However, on September 17, Akriti had announced that they had decided to part ways due to differences.
Prithvi Shaw Admits He Lost His Way
On Monday evening, October 12, 2026, Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal shared a joint Instagram story titled “A Personal Clarification”, explaining the reason behind their separation and reunion.
In the statement, Prithvi admitted that when he called off the engagement, he listened only to the opinions of people close to him and allowed their views to influence his decision.
He said that some people around them had a strong impact on their relationship, and because of that, he made a decision that perhaps should not have been taken. He also admitted that better communication between the two was necessary.
Couple Requests Respect for Their Decision
The statement further explained that after the separation, both of them had open conversations, understood each other better and decided to come back together.
They said that they are enough for each other and do not need anyone else to decide their future. The couple added that their relationship will now move forward on the basis of their own understanding, trust and love.
Ending the message, they requested people to respect their decision as they begin a new chapter together.
Engagement Took Place on March 8
Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal got engaged on March 8, 2026. Reports of differences between the two had started emerging from August, before Akriti announced their separation on September 17.
At the time, Akriti had stated that she and her fiancé decided to part ways because of different goals and circumstances regarding their future.
Now, after their latest announcement, the couple has given their relationship a fresh start.
