New Delhi: Delhi Police have denied permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on October 30, citing security concerns, according to news agency ANI. The decision has raised uncertainty over the Delhi leg of his Aura India Tour, as the organisers have reportedly not received the required clearance.
Why Did Delhi Police Reject the Request?
According to ANI, a letter reportedly issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Delhi, and addressed to a ticketing platform cited threat-related inputs, security arrangements required during the festive season and other law-and-order concerns as reasons for denying permission.
Police have not publicly disclosed further details about the specific security inputs that led to the decision. It also remains unclear whether the organisers will apply for fresh permission, reschedule the concert or consider shifting the event to another venue.

The development comes as fans look forward to Dosanjh’s performance in the national capital. The singer has built a strong fan base in India and overseas and is widely known for his energetic live shows at major venues around the world.
